Chris G. Williams Beware: I mix tech and personal interests here.
Yesterday morning, I woke up to find myself in the middle of a nasty little blizzard. If you've ever seen the McMurdo Station (Antarctica) Condition 1 video, it looked kinda like that (more or less.)

It was pretty awful. Visibility was limited to pretty much as far as I could reach with my arm, and even though I knew WHERE my car was, it still took me a few moments to actually find it.

Once I got in my car, let it warm up, scraped all the windows and windshield, I got back in only to realize that the first windows I had scraped were already covered AGAIN. The wind was blowing close to 30mph and the snow and ice was coming at me horizontally.

Needless to say, I didn't make it to work. I did manage to make it to the McDonald's down the street from my hotel, only to find out the Extreme Weather Conditions had taken out their ability to process credit cards. So, I turned around and managed to make it to the approximate vicinity of Hardees, although I couldn't actually find my way into their parking lot, due to all the snow and wind. Eventually, I made my own way onto the lot (hey, I was hungry!!) and hopefully whatever those large bumps were wasn't anything important.

After my breakfast, the storm wasn't showing any sign of letting up, so I turned around and went back to my hotel. I stayed there and worked the rest of the day, only coming out briefly to go across the parking lot for lunch and dinner.

Today, other than everything being covered in a sheet of ice, hasn't been too bad. With any luck, some of this stuff will melt away this afternoon and tomorrow (of course it's supposed to be below freezing again tonight, so anything that melts today is just going to be a problem tomorrow morning.)

I keep telling you guys, hell isn't hot... it's very very cold.
