Chris G. Williams Beware: I mix tech and personal interests here.

So... what did you do last night?

I spent my evening killing zombies and keeping the world safe for democracy.

My awesome employer, Magenic, decided we hadn't had a decent party in a while... so off we went to Gameworks.  I spent about 3 1/2 hours pumping bullets into a neverending supply of Zombies and Giant Spiders (House of the Dead III) and fighting spies and terrorists (Time Crisis II.)  There was also some Zombie game that featured a shotgun, but the pump kept sticking, so I didn't survive that one, unfortunately.

I also managed to play some two handed air hockey, which was quite interesting... especially with 3-4 pucks on the table at once. This location didn't have quite the assortment of retro-games that the Seattle one does, but it does have 8-10 lanes of bowling, which is very cool.

I'd have to say, this one is a lot nicer than the Seattle location, since the last time I was there, they had converted a big chunk of their game space into more bar space, and put in a TON of crane games and rhythm games that only spoke/displayed in Japanese.

So, a big thank you to Magenic for being an awesome place to work... and did I mention we're hiring in pretty much all locations?  (Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Minneapolis & San Francisco)  Drop me a line if you want to talk about it.

Well, I don't think we have a Gameworks here in Atlanta, if we do I don't know of it. Little did we know that when we joined Magenic that the term Magenic "Family" wasn't just a cliche'. I made so many bad career choices in my life that I used to think going to a place you hated was just part of being an adult. Now though, it's hard to imagine that I ever thought that just b/c the last two years has been such a great experience. I'm no doubt preaching to the choir - but when you got me to come to Magenic, that was the best thing that happened to me professionally in my entire career. Coming here was no doubt the best thing I've done professionally - and having a great job that you love brings with it so many other pleasantries that it's been one of the best decisions I've made - period. To anyone that's reading this post- You can ask anyone is any of our offices, you couldn't ask for a better place to work. My only regret is that I didn't learn about Magenic a lot earlier in my career.

The only GameWorks I know of in the south is in Florida, and I'm not sure that really counts. ;)

Yeah no doubt that everything you said is totally true. I can't imagine why anyone would ever want to leave Magenic, but it does happen... it would take an awful lot for me though.

I will say, Magenic definitely has some of the best people in the industry and I like to think we know how to treat them right.

If you like Gameworks I was there today and they have a new deal where you can get a meal and a game card good for three hours for $14.99. The card only works for the video games and not the games where tickets come out. But those are for little kids anyway.
