2 1/2 weeks until Roanoke Code Camp. I can hardly wait. I haven't been home in close to 4 years. I've actually made a list of places to go and things I want to see while I'm in town.
  • North Star Restaurant (Buchanan, VA) - I hope this is still open. I used to eat breakfast here with my dad every weekend, even after we moved to Roanoke, we would make the trip.
  • Mill Mountain Star - This is hard to explain if you haven't seen it. Imagine a huge neon star sitting on top of a mountain. The star is less important than the actual view of the valley from there.
  • Star City Games - only the biggest gaming store on the east coast.
  • El Rodeo (Williamson Road) - one of my favorite restaurants.
  • Burning Bridges - my friends band, playing Friday night
  • Advance Auto Parts (to visit my old coworkers)

There are also a lot of people I'm looking forward to seeing... coworkers and people I've known most of my life. I don't have any family left in Virginia anymore, but it's still home I guess, for better or worse.

edit:  I almost forgot:   Texas Tavern (but not before midnight)

Mill Mountain Star... I have actually been there! We drove up to it when I was down in Roanoke to visit my sister's in-laws there. Very nice view indeed.
